Mother's Day 2007

No hay nada mas agradable que estar en buena compannia y deliciosa comida. Asi fue como pasamos el Dia de la Madre celebrandolo junto a nuestra familia extensa del Sur de la Florida. Fue muy agradable el encontrarnos: nos reimos mucho y compartimos un grato momento todos unidos. El Lunes logramos registrar a Elaine en el Consulado de Colombia, y a consecuencia tiene ella ya tres nacionalidades: la Americana, la Japonesa, y ahora la Colombiana! Esta pendiente la Argentina - para que entonces Papa Oscar empiece a celebrar en grande?! :) Para entonces tendria ella cuatro diferentes nacionalidades - increible, no? Que pequinnita tan Internacional!!! :)

Visita de la Abuelita

Con gran alegria recibimos a la Abuelita en casa recientemente; y Elaine y la Abuelita la estan pasando en grande! Elaine en la presencia de su abuelita no cesa de "hablar." Sera que se llegara a ser igual que su abuelita de conversadora?

Sleeping Beauty & Los Patitos

How interesting and rewarding it is to see your own child grow and develop their cognitive, motor, and social skills. The first time, however, when little Elaine slept through the night, Oscar and I were concerned she was not waking up and kept checking up on her making sure she was breathing! These long stretches of sleep, of course, then started being interrupted by her teething pains. But all in all, each development and stage carries its own surprises and beauty. Couple of Sundays ago, as I was playing with some of Elaine's duckies (patitos), "quacking" away, she suddenly started laughing histerically. With much amazement at this reaction of hers, we could not contain our joy and contagiously started laughing together with her. She is our little sunshine and we adore her - even though uninterrupted sleep is not yet (hopefully will be someday) a reality for our family:)

Elaine's First Swim

It is indeed getting a bit more summer-like around here in Jacksonville (though it is still quite variable), and the other day we finally decided we needed to go buy little Elaine a swimming suit to go swimming! We had a blast and plan to make it out to the pool more, weather permitting.
